Matt Drew Takes On The Paris Marathon

In April 2022, Account Manager Matt Drew undertook a remarkable 150-mile walk from Wells Cathedral to Westminster Abbey, raising funds for St Margaret’s Hospice Care. Now, in April of this year, Matt has set his sights on a new challenge: running the Paris Marathon. This time, his efforts will support the Southside Family Project through fundraising.

The Southside Project is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing accessible support services to families in need. Their mission is to assist families facing various challenges, including debt, domestic abuse, housing issues, and more. With services such as counselling, financial advice, and housing support, the charity helps families overcome these difficulties and build a brighter future.

Scheduled for the 7th of April, 2024, the Paris Marathon ranks as one of the largest sporting events in France, with the second most finishers globally after the New York City Marathon. The marathon route begins along the iconic Champs-Elysées, traverses the city to the scenic Bois De Vincennes, circles back along the river Seine, and culminates with a triumphant finish on the Avenue Foch.

A long-time enthusiast of long-distance running, Matt is currently undergoing rigorous training sessions across the Somerset countryside in preparation for this monumental challenge. His dedication and perseverance are commendable, and we eagerly anticipate his performance on the big day.
